Robert Paul Gould III, born December 6, 1982, is a placekicker for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was a member of the Chicago Bears from 2005 to 2015, during which time he became the team’s all-time leading scorer.
Despite already possessing established Super Bowl-winning kicker Adam Vinatieri, the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots signed Gould before the 2005 NFL preseason, despite Gould going undrafted in the NFL Draft that year.
After getting his anticipated preseason release from the Patriots, Gould signed with the Baltimore Ravens, only to have his contract invalidated three weeks later. After that, he took a hiatus from football to work for M&R Contracting in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania.
