Jamie Murray’s tennis career and news

He was beaten by England’s James Ward in the 2nd round of the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi, partnering with Colin Fleming in his doubles career. Jamie played with his brother Andy Murray, in his first tournament.

He reached the semi-finals in August 2011 of the Winston–Salem Open 2011 but lost to Alexander Peya and Christopher Kas.

Murray had a disappointing campaign as he and André Sá lost in the first round to Peya/Soares at the US Open 2012 in straight sets.

In the semi-finals, Murray with Peers saved a match point against Steve Johnson/Sam Querrey to reach the final of the US Open 2015, where they ended as runners-up to Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in September 2015.

He and Soares enjoyed more Grand Slam achievements at the US Open 2016, defeating Guillermo García-López, and Pablo Carreño Busta in the final round.

They won their first mixed tournament at the Mexico Open 2017, defeating American players John Isner and Feliciano López in March 2017.

Murray and his mixed doubles partner Victoria Azarenka reached the final tour of Wimbledon but were defeated in straight sets in July 2018.

In the Cincinnati Masters tournament 2019, Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski met Andy Murray and Feliciano López in the 2nd match of the quarterfinal between the siblings.

His latest Career news

He was selected to play in the Doubles Rio Open 2022 championship that will be held on 14th February 2022 and completed on 20th February 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He played against James Duckworth in the Wimbledon 2022 in the first round on 28th June 2022, Murray won the tournament on (4, 6, 6, 6 and 6, 3, 2, 4).

He played in Wimbledon 2023 2nd round mixed doubles with Taylor Townsend against Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Jan Zielinski. Then they won the 2nd round on (7^7, 7^15 and 6^2, 6^13) 09th July 2023.

The team did not perform well during the grass court season, experiencing first-round exits at both Eastbound and Queens. However, they had a more successful run at Wimbledon, making it to the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, their good form just weeks before the US Open 2023 did not translate as they were eliminated in the second round in straight sets.

After completing the last significant tournament of the season, the team journeyed to China to commence the Asian Hardcourt swing. Eventually, they emerged victorious at the Zhuhai Championships, securing their fourth title of the season by defeating Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow from the United States in straight sets. In fact, Tennis is the most popular sport in America.
