On April 25, 2023, fans were in for a treat when Macaulay "Mack" Culkin and his girlfriend, Brenda Song, went on a rare public outing. The actor's partner is the mother of his children and fiancée.

The outing was a treat as the pair generally prefer leading more private lives and rarely show off their personal lives. Culkin looked like a completely different man after images of him looking gaunt and disheveled made their rounds a few years ago.

Years after rumors went around about his addiction issues, the actor managed to gain weight. He turned his life around so much that he even found the love of his life, and they built a happy family together with two children.

For their outing, Song, 35, and Culkin, 42, decided to go child-free. The couple was seen walking hand-in-hand as they smiled and talked while walking around their home in Los Angeles.

The pair were dressed down for the occasion, with the actor wearing black jeans and a chambray button-down shirt tucked into his pants. He added black sunglasses and Converse sneakers to complete his look.

His fiancée rocked blue wide-leg jeans and a white-and-red baseball T-shirt. She included white sneakers and pink-rimmed glasses while holding a gray jacket to keep warm when the sun sets. Culkin appeared to know how to keep his partner happy as she was photographed laughing.

In June 2017, the duo first met in Thailand on the set of "Changeland," the directorial debut film of Seth Green, who cast them for their roles. The pair were drawn to each other, to the surprise of Green, who confessed In February 2020, that the two stars had an immediate and strong bond that he didn't anticipate.

In August 2018, when Culkin was interviewed on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, he spoke openly about his relationship with the actress. Although he preferred keeping his personal life personal, the actor revealed that he and Song were happy.

He shared how they were discussing the possibility of having children together. The celebrity told Rogan that he was going to make "some babies" and vowed to "put some babies" in the actress in a bit while revealing that they'd been practicing.

While referring to Yoko Ono and the late John Lennon's son, Sean Lennon, Culkin joked about having mixed-race children. He said he would have "pretty" and "Asian babies" because Song was that race.

Song's partner anticipated having adorable children and having a "bunch" of Seans running around their home! Before getting to a point where he could even consider being a father, Culkin struggled with addiction.

Macaulay Gained Weight and Looks "Healthy" — He Answered Rumors about His Addiction

During his 2020 interview, once thin and gaunt Culkin admitted that he'd "played with some fire," referring to his addiction to illegal substances. However, he confessed to having never gone to rehabilitation to get clean.

The actor said sometimes he'd think he was having too much of a good time while out and would catch himself reeling it in. He revealed that some friends often asked him how he got clean, but he discouraged them from taking his advice because he would advice them simply to stop!

However, his advice worked for him because he'd never got too deep in his addiction that he required help from outside. Showing how much he'd grown from the experience, Culkin said having had an addiction at some point in his life allowed him to be where he was in life.

The upside was that the actor had "illuminating experiences," but he did admit that his addiction was stupid. Now he only sometimes uses muscle relaxers but doesn't recreationally use illegal substances anymore. However, he said he still drinks a lot and smokes.

The star [Brenda Song] believed their instinct would be to want to do it all themselves, but she warned that it was physically impossible.

Some fans noticed how different the star looked in recent years, with someone noting in June 2022 how he'd "put on some weight." Back in December 2018, a fan wrote:

"I'm glad Macaulay Culkin gained some weight; he looks healthy now."

That same month, another person thought the "Home Alone" star could do with some weight loss. In a Facebook post of Culkin and Song strolling together in Los Angeles in April 2023, someone joked that it looked like he was "holding the baby fat," while another fan praised him, saying:

"Congratulations, Mccaully *sic* He looks so good with a little weight on him."

Doting Dad "Mack" Built His Ideal Family Life

In March 2023, it was revealed that Culkin and Song had welcomed their second child. Kieran Culkin, the actor's brother, confirmed the news.

Culkin's sibling said he had a three and a one-year-old, but getting around to see his brother's family wasn't easy on both sides because they lived busy lives and far apart. While he and his family live in New York, his brother's family is based in Los Angeles.

Kieran shared that he hadn't met his brother's second child, and neither had his wife, Jazz Charton, and their children. He said they just needed to figure out when to do it.

In January 2022, Song revealed that she and her fiancé were hands-on parents who didn't have a nanny, but her mother had been living with them since their first child and son was born.

By then, the boy was nine-months-old, and when the "Dollface" actress was working, her mother brought him on the set to breastfeed and see him. Thus, Song urged pregnant people to seek assistance, especially in the fourth trimester, even when instinct tells them to do it all themselves. She warned that it was physically impossible.

During his Rogan interview, Culkin had confessed to wanting to move in with Song when she got her new home, stating:

"I have a good life out here. I have a pretty little family -- a pretty girl, a pretty dog, a pretty cat, and all that stuff."

Although the couple don't go out in public often, they were photographed with Song's mother and two children, both sons, on April 6, 2023. Their son also got to take photos with the Easter bunny that same month at the Grove.

The family has been to the Los Angeles Zoo, the Pasadena Farmer's Market, shopping in Paris, and celebrating Culkin's 39th birthday at Disneyland. The couple also once went to CatCon and hardly ever posts anything personal on their social media accounts.
